WHAT

DAC – Designers Against Coronavirus is the archive created and curated by Carosello Lab during the lockdown in 2020. It collects artworks from designers, illustrators, and creatives from all around the world.
In contradiction to the fear and distrust spreading by the Covid-19, DAC project aims to inspire communication, sharing and giving visibility to works that unite people through beauty and creativity.

MISSION

The most important goal of DAC was to raise funds to fight the virus pandemic, by supporting the Italian Red Cross, through a direct donation button on the initiative’s website.

RESULTS

In less than two weeks, more than 2.000 proposals have been sent: today the digital archive presents more than 350 works from 44 different countries.
Given the success of the IG page, Carosello Lab decided to transform it into a book, to leave a physical testimony of the project while continuing to raise funds for the Italian Red Cross.

“WE CAN DO IT!”

Inspiring by the US propaganda poster (We Can Do It!) – created in the 1943 by J. Howard Miller for the Westinghouse Electric to raise worker mood – I’ve replaced the iconic woman with a nurse to express a big thanks to all the medical staff all over the world and in particular in my country where my mother works in the front line.
They are our everyday heroes.

In these difficult times we have been amazed by the participation of people in the creative industries.
Many created illustrations, graphics and moving images to inform, express solidarity and spread hope.
We decided that this work didn’t have to get lost.
